Tech Support for Churches is provided by Pr. Seth Novak, a rostered Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. My website address is: https://churchtech.support

Introduction

I take privacy very seriously, and I am committed to protecting the information you entrust to me. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you engage my services or visit my website.

Data Security

Any and all data on the internet is vulnerable to being stolen. For this reason, I store all customer personal and payment information locally (i.e. not online). I take standard precautions whenever transmitting data (email, SMS, payment processing), but please understand that no method of data transmission is 100% secure.

Information I Collect

I may collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: Congregation name, email address, phone number, billing information, as well as name and phone number or email address of contact persons and other details you voluntarily provide.
  • Automatically Collected Information: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data via cookies or similar technologies.
  • Other Information: Customer feedback and referrals.

How I Use Your Information

I use your information primarily to communicate with you directly and to provide my services and transact payments with you. I may use referrals for advertising purposes with your explicit permission. I do not send marketing emails and will not put you on any mailing lists. I will never sell or share your information to third parties except as necessary to provide my services (such as payment processors).

SMS Consent

By providing your phone number or contacting me via phone or SMS, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this policy. I will always ensure that your consent to be contacted via phone, email or SMS is obtained explicitly. I do not use mass texting, nor do I engage in phone or SMS-based marketing campaigns (or any marketing campaigns, for that matter), so the only kind of messages you’ll ever receive from me will be communications regarding our business together.

You have the right to opt out of receiving text messages from Tech Support for Churches at any time. To opt out, you can reply “STOP” to any text message you receive from me, or just ask me not to!

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit the site. I do not collect or use cookies. However the website platform may store cookies on your device to remember site preferences, such as viewing the site in light or dark mode. At the moment, I have no control over this.

Who I share your data with

Your information is kept confidential and used solely for the purposes you have agreed to. I will never share your data except as necessary to provide my services, such as to payment processors, if used. I will never sell your data. I think it’s a repulsive thing, and anyway, I wouldn’t have any way to if I wanted, so there.

How long I retain your data

I will retain customer contact information for future communication and transactions and for tax purposes, but sensitive payment information will be deleted 90 days after payment transactions are completed. Information regarding our business transactions (e.g. estimates, invoices, etc) will be retained for tax purposes, which means a minimum of 7 years. After that time, I will continue to retain it for records unless directed not to. Payment information (e.g. credit card numbers) is only retained long enough to complete a transaction, and then it is deleted.

What rights you have over your data

Your data is your data, period. You may request a copy of any and all information I have regarding your dealings with me at any time, and if you ask me to delete it, I will do so at my earliest convenience, and will send you written acknowledgment that I have deleted it.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated version will indicate a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of my services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
